Welcome to the IFU Graduate Program!

The IFU Graduate Program at KIT’s Campus Alpin is dedicated to supporting early-career scientists in one of today’s most urgent and impactful fields: climate research. Because climate change affects every part of society, young researchers today need more than technical expertise. They must be able to communicate their findings clearly, collaborate across disciplines, and remain resilient in the face of complex global challenges. Our Graduate Program equips young scientists with exactly these skills – preparing them to become both strong researchers and effective voices for a sustainable future.

We work in close cooperation with the Karlsruhe House of Young Scientists (KHYS) and its KHYS Postdoc Office, which are the central institutions for the promotion of junior researchers at KIT. Furthermore, we are embedded into the research program "Changing Earth - Sustaining our Future" in the Helmholtz research field "Earth and Environment" and thus into KIT's ATMOchange Activities and Helmholtz Activities.
